Jazan Economic City Masterplan

The growth of ETE Ready Mix in recent years and its strategy to locate production close to its core markets have led to further investments in Jazan, particularly in Jazan Economic City. Our Jazan Economic City (JEC) batching plant consists of state-of-the-art equipment, employs our citizens, and aims to contribute to our nation’s development. The new production facility building covers 60,000 m² and was inaugurated in January 2015.

The production facility in JEC is one of two ETE Ready Mix stations in Jazan, along with Jazan University B/P, supplying our valuable customers with high-quality concrete and superior service backed by our experience. It plays an important role in ETE Ready Mix’s strategy of positioning production close to its core markets and valuable customers.

The mobile equipment capacity of ETE Ready Mix JEC Station has already increased and will be further enhanced by the compliance and support of our new and existing customers.

The concrete produced here will comply with international standards and Saudi Aramco requirements, the pride of our country. JEC Station is a key cornerstone in our strategy of building a stable manufacturing base around the Kingdom, ultimately ensuring alignment with the long-term planning of Jazan Economic City.

— Mr. Morhaf Bu-Khamsin, ETE Ready Mix General Manager

The larger Jazan Economic City Project, covering 108 km², involves the construction of power plants, desalination plants, a seaport, and a residential district. It will also house manufacturing facilities for a number of industries, including electronics, pharmaceuticals, processed foods, and other sectors.

The refinery will cover an area of 12 km² and will process 400,000 bpd of Arabian Heavy and Arabian Medium crudes to produce 80 million barrels per day of gasoline, 250 million barrels per day of diesel, and more than one million tonnes per annum of benzene and paraxylene petrochemical products.

A multiple-pier marine terminal will support the supply of crude oil from the Saudi Arabian oil fields to the refinery and also enable the export of surplus volumes from the refinery to global markets. The terminal will be designed to accommodate Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs).

The 4,000 MW combined cycle power plant, the largest of its kind in the world, will use approximately 90,000 bpd of vacuum residue from the refinery. It will also provide electricity, hydrogen, and water for the refinery, while conveying the excess power to the national grid.

ETE Ready Mix operates a comprehensive national supply network to ensure that quality materials and services are available to customers locally. Holding an enviable position as a market leader in ready-mixed concrete, our reputation for reliability and unrivaled technical expertise has been built up over 45 years of serving the construction industry. Nationwide, ETE Ready Mix operates over 50 concrete batching plants to ensure efficient delivery to virtually any location in the country.
