During contract signing last January 15, 2014 for Shuqaiq Steam Power Plant Project, (at the left side)  Mr. Yoo Hyo-Sik, Site Director of Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and Eng. Morhaf Bu-khamsin (at the right side), General Manger of ETE Readymix Concrete.

It is undeniably a good start of the year for any business organizations when a huge project is finally closed just as the new year unfolds. It strikes a positive momentum that raises the level of enthusiasm and positive outlook; however, sustaining it till the rest of year is where the challenge comes in.

Yes, ETE Readymix Concrete unveils 2014 more aggressively by taking extra challenging goals,  as another remarkable concrete supply agreement for a mega project,  Shuqaiq Steam Power Plant (SSPP),  was formally sealed between ETE Readymix Concrete and Hyundai Heavy Industries ( HHI ) on 15th of January 2014. Signed on behalf of HHI was Mr. Yoo Hyo-Sik, Site Director while on behalf of ETE Readymix was Eng. Morhaf Bu-Khamsin, General Manager. During the last quarter of 2013, this project has been the most sought- after among concrete suppliers in Saudi Arabia, as it would pave the way to further penetrate and establish one’s presence in the Southwestern region of Saudi Arabia - where new government’s and semi-governmental various projects such as industrial cities and refineries are currently underway. ETE Readymix Concrete considers SSPP to be a very critical project not only because it essentially signifies the continuing trust by HHI but it also elevates ETE’s concrete brand to a higher level. 

By winning this contract,  ETE Readymix Concrete further proves its capability in handling projects of such magnitude and the ability to execute mega projects in conjunction with others precisely of the same scale. 

Valued at around SR 300,000,000, with an approximate contractual quantity of 1,000,000 cubic meter of concrete,  the Shuqaiq Steam Power Plant project was commissioned by Saudi Electricity Company ( SEC ) , thru the world renowned Hyundai Heavy Industries ( HHI ), as the main contractor with construction activities beginning early this year,  and is set to be completed in 2017.

As a result of stronger strategic partnership, ETE Readymix Concrete is crowned further by HHI with SSPP project, complementing the past successful, Power Plant -11 ( PP-11 ) in Riyadh; and the concurrent project, Jeddah South Thermal Power Plant project, (JSTPP). With this positive development, both parties are highly optimistic to be able to gain more projects in the future, hence, more growth and success to enjoy. 

It is worthy to note that Hyundai Heavy Industries ( HHI ), one of the world’s most prominent builder and innovator of heavy industries particularly power plants, has gained prominence and trust by the Saudi Arabian government, thru its mandated agencies. The globally renowned group based in South Korea plays a vital role in shaping the power plant industry in the kingdom. 

Shuqaiq Steam Power Plant ( SSPP ) is a 2,640MW oil-fired steam power project,  on the Red Sea coast,  approximately 580 km to the south of Jeddah and 135 km north of Jazan, & is set to be completed by 2017. The supercritical pressure technology is used to generate electric power by operating at such a high steam pressure that it uses less fuel and emits less pollutant than other types of steam generators. Upon completion, the steam power plant will be able to produce enough electricity for about 2 million people. 

In order to meet or even surpass the client’s high expectation, ETE Readymix Concrete has started pulling out its resources ranging from financial,  manpower,  technical, equipment, logistics and all other vital elements that would ensure smooth execution of this project. 

As ETE Readymix Concrete gives more emphasis on delivering quality products, the management is keen to install only state-of-the-art batching plant facilities coupled with highly efficient transportation fleet manned by well-trained & well qualified drivers and operators. Furthermore, an ultra-advanced computer  software is going to be utilized in order to systematize the transportation fleet, thus achieving maximum efficiency in product & service deliveries which will perfectly align with client’s given time frame .
